lauki ki kheer(long melon pudding)

This recipe is from my mom…..this is the yummiest pudding i have ever it tastes like rabri .yum yum.


lauki or long guard peeled,finely grated and hung till water gets out totally

milk 1 litre

sugar according to taste

ghee 3 tablespoon

cardamom pods 2-3


Boil milk it it reduces into half.In meanwhile fry lauki in ghee .Add lauki in the evaporated milk ,cook for 15 mins and then add sugar and again boil for 15 mins and add cardamom pods at the end. Serve hot or cold.



Gajar ka halwa


carrots peeled grated

2 cup milk

1/2 cup condensed milk

1/2 cup sugar

3 pods of cardamom

ghee to fry

cashew nut for garnish


Put the grated carrot with 1/2 cup of water in the pressure cooker and pressure cook for 5 -6 whistles  or till tender.

Pour ghee in a pan and add cardamom,milk and then the carrots and fry till milk is minimised and then add condensed milk and sugar.

Lastly add nuts to garnish …you can also put sultanas.

This are the cakes that i made on special occasions .

malpua…indian pancakes

100 gms white flour or maida
100 gms suji
400ml of milk
3 cardamom pods
7 tbspn of sugar
oil to fry

First make chasni or sugar syrup.Mix flour ,sugar,suji and cardamom together with milk and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then mix it together without any lumps.Heat pan and fry the pancakes like dosa and then dip it in sugar syrup.Serve with whipped cream.

Microwave besan laddoo

1 cup of besan
1 cup sugar
3-4 tbsp of ghee
1 teaspn of cardamom powder

Put besan in a microwave proof and then add 2 tbspn ghee and mix together …put in microwave for 2 mins.Take out and stir with a spoon and mix 1 tbspn of ghee and put back in microwave for 1 mins…it will be very hot so be cautious….mix and see if the besan is roasted.if roasted the mix sugar in it slowly and the the cardamom powder and it will melt in the hot besan mixture…once its slight cool…make round ladoos.Add more ghee if unable to make round laddoos.

sakar pare

3 cup of flour
2 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
pinch of salt
oil to fry

Mix flour with little bit of oil and salt….which i call as moyam…or making flour crispy…and then knead with water to a soft dough.Meanwhile make sugar syrup until water reduce to half or sugar starts to crystallized.Roll dough with a rolling pin and cut any shape u like ….heat oil in a pan and fry it until golden brown.Put the fried pares in sugar syrups for 2 mins and set aside.


2 cup of fried seviyaan
1/2 cup of sugar
4 cup of milk
1 tbspn of ghee
2 pod of cardamom

Heat milk in a kadhai bring it to boil.Add cardamom ,sugar and then add the seviyaan .Boil for 5 mkinutes and then add ghee.You can also garnish with pistachio kismis.
